This article refers to the Woodlawn Cemetery in the New York City borough of The Bronx.
Located in The Bronx, Woodlawn Cemetery is one of the largest cemeteries in New York City.
It opened in 1863 at a time when The Bronx was still considered as being out in "the country." The cemetery covers more than 400 acres (half the size of Central Park) and is the resting place for more than 300,000 people.

Woodlawn reserves the right to remove the remains, and place them in a common grave, upon written notice to the family, at the last address on file, if the rental contract is in default for any reason.
Woodlawn may allow new bushes to be planted at the owner's expense, but again, requests that for the long-term care and preservation of the bushes, that an endowment be created.
Woodlawn is not responsible for repair, maintenance or replacement of any monument, marker, private mausoleum, or planting that is stolen, damaged or destroyed by any cause whatsoever during the course of work being performed on said lot by a Contractor.
