Jim Woodson | art & antiques
Woodson identifies his most interesting experience to date as a 1991 collaboration with the Fort Worth Opera to design sets for “Carmen,” which led him to enliven his work with new techniques borrowed from the repertoire of the stage’s scenic artists.
While “there’s no single influential person in my life,” Woodson notes a litany of key players: “First there were professors such as Joe Ferrell Hobbs and Harry Geffert that showed me by their example that it was possible to be an artist.” These Texas inspirations segued with a famous national talent, the painter Wayne Thiebaud.
Woodson perceives a subtle shift in his work—he’s starting to “integrate” his bands of abstraction directly onto the landscape, to make the canvases more unified.

Although the Court held those schemes constitutional, none of the statutes is thorough in its treatment of the procedural aspects of capital punishment litigation, which is now the focal point of capital cases.
