  Brian Vickers "Counterfeiting" Review
Thomas of Woodstock or I Richard II (the title page is missing in the ms.) is one of fifteen anonymous plays found in the notorious British Library manuscript-Egerton 1994-that has intrigued and puzzled scholars since James Halliwell discovered it in the late 1860s.
In another category of evidence are the close connections between Woodstock and Richard II that go beyond characters, lines and phrases, and extend even to the manner of composition.
In his edition, which he calls Woodstock, a Moral History (1946), A. Rossiter observed that the play was not about the fall of Richard, and that "throughout it keeps to the character, dismissal, retirement, arrest and murder of Woodstock." For these reasons, Thomas of Woodstock is the better title.

If Woodstock I was held in 1964, as I think it was, then it might be useful to remember that the 60s as a cultural phenomena were not born full grown on 1-1-60.
Specifically many of the commentators on this list looking at Woodstock seem surprised at the lack of "60s spirit" shown at Woodstock I. This may well be because most of the movements that characterize the 60s were still in their formative stage in 1964.

Woodstock was also asked by the Catholic Theological Society of America to put on a panel discussion of the catechism at its 1990 convention in San Francisco.

The story of the two Woodstocks is in many ways the story of two generations, often labeled "Baby Boom" and "Generation X." The dividing line hits just under the age of thirty.
The two Woodstocks had several things in common-dope, mud, nudity, sex-but one aspect unshowcased at the first was "unbridled rage and self-reproach." The original Woodstock movie looks sweetly naive, dressed in dreamy watercolors.
