The headliners are the husband-and-wife team of Matt and Yvette Woolston, who welcome guests into their new "home" with a quiet pride and concentrated but unforced eagerness to astonish and please.
It would be a shame if they allow their apprehension to deny them the joy and revelation of experiencing the most artistic and solid dining to debut in Sacramento this year.

The Grand Lodge of New Zealand, recognizing his heralding at lodge installations all over Canterbury during more than fifty years, marked Dave's many years of service to Freemasonry some years ago.
Of the many compositions from Dean's pen, Rhapsody in Brass is his best-known secular work; test piece for the 1949 British Open and 1951 New Zealand Brass Band Championships, featured by both 1953 and 1962 National Bands and a unique New Zealand contribution to the library of major works for brass band.
The Woolston treatment evoked a vivid remembrance to this reviewer of Norman Goffin pinging off that top whatever it is in the third movement, ably repeated here by Woolston's soprano, Colin Clark.

The latter part of 1907 was a memorable time to be at Lyttelton, the port of the city of Christchurch on New Zealand's South Island.
A year of hard work was needed to re-commission the ship and many fund raising projects were required to buy the extra equipment necessary to obtain a New Zealand Marine Department Passenger Survey Certificate.
She commenced her new role as a passenger vessel late in 1973 and it is hoped that she will continue to display a part of the historic past for many years to come.

It was indeed a walk down Memory Lane, this concert by Addington Brass and Woolston Brass, honouring Dave Christensen, Life Member of both bands, celebrating the 80th birthday of New Zealand's greatest cornettist, who led the 1953 1962 and 1965 National Bands.
Woolston played it in K.G.L. Smith style, contrasted then by Hoagy Carmichael's Stardust in appropriately lazy vein.
Irving Berlin's Puttin' on the Ritz next (surely a reminder of Fred Astaire?), then Woolston's piece de resistance, Dean Goffin's Rhapsody in Brass, largely written in Syria in 1943 when he and brother Norman were bandmaster and band sergeant respectively of the 4th New Zealand Infantry Brigade Band.

 Rutherford Street (Woolston) Cemetery - Cemeteries of Christchurch - Heritage - Christchurch City Libraries
In 1870 Joseph Harrop Hopkins was responsible for the area about Ferry Road being renamed ‘Woolston’ and the cemetery was popularly styled the Heathcote and Woolston Cemetery.
Although the cemetery was long associated with St. John’s church, Woolston, which held the cemetery plan, the owners were the Church Property Trustees.
In 1982 the Church Property Trustees negotiated with the Christchurch City Council so that ownership of  ‘Woolston’s old Rutherford Street Cemetery’ might be transferred to the council.

The 2001 New Zealand Male Voice Choir Festival was hosted by the Christchurch Liedertafel in Christchurch 12 October - 14 October.
Also participating this year as both guest artists and also accompanying some massed choir items was the Woolston Brass, New Zealand's No 1 Brass Band in all Championship events in 2001 and who have been the NZ Champion Band 16 times since 1971.
Alwyn brought the Morriston Orpheus Choir to New Zealand in 2000 and 2003.
