From 1999 to 2003, the nearby Woomera Immigration Reception and Processing Centre, held asylum seekers and refugees.
Woomera's attractions include Missile Park which features missiles and rockets developed at Woomera, and a visitors centre and museum which was formerly a recreation centre for U.S. Army personnel.

I lived in Woomera for 2 years (early 89- late 90) and I was hoping that maybe you had some E-mail addresses of some people who still live there.
Woomera was an extremely busy and exciting place in the early 70's with all the ELDO launches and approximately 5000 personnel living in the village so there was plenty to do and plenty of parties to attend.
I was born in 1969 at Woomera hospital.
