Despite not taking over as Wooster’s primary tailback until early October, Sheppard was the top freshman running back in the conference, netting 769 yards and scoring six touchdowns on 155 carries (5.0 average).
WOOSTER, Ohio —- The College of Wooster scorched the nets at Timken Gymnasium for 17 3-pointers Saturday night, as the host Fighting Scots defeated University of Wisconsin-Stout 90-82 to win their fourth season-opening Al Van Wie/Wooster Rotary Classic in a row.
The College of Wooster swimming and diving teams were each handed losses in dual meet action at Westminster College in New Wilmington, Pa., on Saturday afternoon as the men suffered their first setback of the season, losing 117.5-81.5 to fall to 4-1, while the Scot women dropped to 2-3 this season with a 118-85 loss.

Wooster Beech (1794-1868), founder of the Eclectic healing movement, regarded balsam fir as a stimulant and laxative when taken internally and as an emollient and coolant when used externally.
It has an extensive history of medicinal use in North America and Europe for congestion and other infections, but not used much today.
