4 Comrades Expelled from Workers World Party, Join IWP   (Site not responding. Last check: 2007-10-18)
From the beginning, we four launched a polemic within WWP on the popular-front and moralizing basis on which the march was being organized; that it made no attempt to raise the question of the expansion of the school system, and link it up with the general decay of life under capitalism from a socialist perspective.
The not-et Workers World faction felt that that was idiotic optimism and that the conjuncture was one of imperialist regroupment and consolidation.
By 1959, when WWP emerged as a party it still had a good empirical approximation of reality, and saw the upswing in struggle that was going to come in the next few years on a world scale, and had the guts to take the safety risks involved in expressing support for this.

The party also has a controversial position regarding the Tiananmen Square protests of 1989, which it describes as "a battle, not a massacre." Finally, the party opposed both Gulf Wars but was also one of the few U.S. communist groups other than the modern Spartacist League to hail the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan in 1979.

Origins of the Workers World Party
Following World War II, the Fourth International faced a political crisis trying to reconcile Trotsky's statement that if the war's aftermath failed to produce a new wave of socialist revolution, all of Marxism would need to be reconsidered.
For them the role of the Marxist party in capitalist countries was to ally itself (i.e., the conscious sector of its working class) with the victorious workers' states in a straightforward strategic display of class solidarity in a class war that had become global.
The party newspaper banner debuted with a silhouette of Lenin in one corner and Trotsky in the other, bracing the heading, "Colored and White Unite and Fight for a WORKERS WORLD." The founders never looked back, and from then to the present kept their doctrinaire politics strictly internal.

There are macro-economic system theories which have created a concept called human capital (referring to the skills that workers possess, not necessarily their actual work), although there are also counterposing macro-economic system theories that think human capital is a contradiction in terms.
In Marxian economics, the aim of labour economics is to provide insight and guidance for the optimal allocation of cooperative human labour.
