 | | The aim of this paper is to undertake a case study of Port Klang, Malaysia’s leading port, and the world’s 14th busiest container port. |
 | | Thus, in the case of ports, a range of means of achieving privatisation exists, from the leasing of container terminals to private operators, a practice that is common in Australia, to the establishment of joint ventures, through to innovative ‘public private partnerships’ as have recently developed in planning at the port of Rotterdam. |
 | | Port Klang, formerly Port Swettenham, is located on the west coast of Malaysia, at the mouth of the Klang River, about 40 kilometres from Kuala Lumpur, the country’s capital. |
