		Was given back the title after he cited that Dean Simon, aka Dean Malenko, had illgelly interfered in his defence of the Crusierweight title the previous night at Bash at the Beach 1998.
		It was during this title rein that WCW was bought by the WWF and the title was inactively defended until July 3rd when WCW cruiserweight matches remerged and Helms lost the title on Smackdown.

		The World title was losing major creds when Triple H would take it back after someone held it for like a month or two and basically have teh entire show focused around him.

		Yeah then there came the period of time when the IC champ was supposed to be considered a top contender for the world title but that changed and he was just seen as an IC champion and nothing more.
		I'd say the IC title lost a lot of it's credibility back in 1999 when it was held by the likes of Road Dogg and Chyna.
		WCW title started loosing credibility with the Finger Poke of Doom and then lost any shred of credibility it had when Russo won it.
