	World Trade Center - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		The World Trade Center in New York City (sometimes informally referred to as the WTC or the Twin Towers) was a complex of seven buildings, mostly designed by Japanese American architect Minoru Yamasaki and developed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.
		The 208 feet (63.4 m) wide facade was, in effect, a prefabricated steel lattice, with columns on 39 inch (100 cm) centers acting as wind bracing to resist all overturning forces; the central core took the majority of the gravity loads of the building.
		Later that day, 7 World Trade Center also collapsed, while the four remaining buildings in the WTC plaza also sustained heavy damage from debris and were ultimately demolished.
