The World Transhumanist Association is an international non-profit organization membership organization which advocates the ethical use of technology to enhance human capacities.
The WTA was founded as a non-profit 501c3 organization in 1998 by Nick Bostrom and David Pearce.
The WTA established the Journal of Transhumanism and began working toward the recognition of transhumanism as an academic discipline.

Some transhumanists instead advocate a form of egalitarian liberal eugenics, arguing that the use of reproductive and genetic technologies in attempts to increase the probability of a healthy, happy, and multiply talented child is a responsible and justifiable application of parental reproductive rights.

Whether or not the claims of transhumanists are generally true, it should be almost immediately obvious that they don't belong in the woo-woo category.
I can understand that the transhumanists want to distance themselves from racism, but it is disingenuous (or perhaps a blue herring) to claim they are not advocating enlightened eugenics.
