On behalf of Slovenian national debate organisation ZIP, Za in proti, zavod za kulturo dialoga I kindly invite you to the International Highschool Debate Tournament, which will be held in Ormož from 13th to 15th of April 2007.
Ormož debaters are offering home stays and everybody is welcomed to come a few days prior to the tournament being guests of Ormož debaters, who will be announcing the events planned for you in the next weeks.
The participation fee per a debater is 15 EUR and it covers accomodation in home stay, food and of course the tournament.

World Schools Style is a combination of the British Parliamentary and Australian formats, which results in a debate comprising eight speeches delivered by four two-member teams (two on the Proposition and two on the Opposition).

 Monash Law
A Monash University debating team has finished among the world's top four universities in the 2002 World Universities Debating Championship held at the University of Toronto this month.
Ms Wolthuizen was also a member of the Monash team that last year won the Australasian Debating Championships in Nanyang, Singapore, the second largest university debating competition in the world.
She said that unlike most of the teams at the championship, the Monash team did not have a coach.

 UBC 2007 - Organizing Committee
Kevin was a World Universities Debating Championship quarter-finalist in 2003 in Stellenbosch South Africa, and a semi-finalist in 2004 in Singapore.
He served as a Deputy Chief Adjudicator for the World Universities Debating Championship in 2005 in Malaysia and was a grand final round adjudicator in 2006 in Dublin.
Tim is a former World Universities Debating Championships finalist when the tournament was held in Stellenbosch in 2003.

December 2006, 1,000 of the brightest university students from around the world, representing over 42 nations and 6 continents will travel to Vancouver, British Columbia for seven days of intense debate competition.
The first World Universities Debating Championship was hosted in January 1981 in Glasgow Scotland.
There were four days of debating with some time to tour Edinburgh and then the final debates.

We as the organizers of "Istanbul2003" World Universities Debate Tournament have read your e-mail conversation about "Istanbul2003" and the name-rights of World Universities Debating Championship.
Turkey is a country, in which debating activities are accelerating every year.
We do hope that organizations that are running tournaments will respect the 27 year tradition of the World University Debating Championship and not muddy the waters by using their name.

British Parliamentary style is the internationally recognised debating format, and is seen as the most dynamic, spontaneous and engaging style of debating.
It is the format used at the premier international debating event: the World Universities Debating Championship.
British Parliamentary style requires debaters to construct comprehensive, logical arguments in a short space of time, to present their arguments with flare (and often humour!) and to respond immediately to impromptu questions raised by members of the opposing teams.

Motion passed unanimously that the University of Sydney Union, Sydney, Australia, will be the hosts of the XX World Universities Debating Championships, conditional to confirmation of the bid by the WDC during its meeting in Manila.
During the X World Universities Debating Championship Council Meeting of January 1, 1990 a motion was passed that as of 1991, no individual be allowed to participate in the Championships more than four times ("grandfather clause").
Motion passed unanimously that the Minutes of the XVII World Universities Debating Championship Council Meeting of January 1, 1997 are approved and that every effort should be made so that the minutes of the Second WDC meeting in Stellenbosch be made available in the next WDC meeting in Manila.

Any reference source that deals with the content of debates, rather than the style or technique, must inevitably be updated regularly in order to deal with the changing background to all controversies, no matter how perennial they are.
While the contributors include some of the world's most experienced debaters, coaches and judges, they would not claim to have the definitive approach to any debate, and may well have left out a line of argument that you would feel to be important.
And if you are debating competitively, you could be greatly hurting your chances of winning -- the chances are that the adjudicators will know these arguments and where they came from, and bored judges aren't easily persuadable judges.

The UT Mara Debate Society (Malaysia) in collaboration with the Student Representative Council of Law Faculty together with the ICRC will be hosting the ICRC International Humanitarian Law Debate 2008.
Alfred Snider is reporting that efforts to reunify the Asian debating tournaments is now back on the agenda.
East West University already announced that they would bid to host AUDC in 2009 so it looks like some negotiations will have to happen if the unity bid is to pass the next hurdle.
