		The 17th World Youth Day 2002 (WYD2002) was a Catholic youth festival held from 23 July to 28 July 2002 in Toronto, Canada.
		World Youth Day is a celebration of faith begun by the late Pope John Paul II held on an international level every two to three years, and WYD2002 was the tenth such event.
		World Youth Day 2002 consists of two portions - Days of the Diocese held in various dioceses - with the majority in Montreal, Quebec and London, Ontario; as well as the World Youth Days themselves, held in Toronto.

		The pilgrimage to Toronto for World Youth Day 2002 was one of the most awesome experiences of my life.
		All of the people attending World Youth Day made one last pilgrimage on foot from where they had stayed to a common gathering place to participate in a Candlelight Vigil on Saturday night with Pope John Paul II, and celebrate Mass on Sunday morning after sleeping under the stars.
