  World in Action
World in Action, Britain's long-running and most illustrious current affairs programme, goes out in prime-time on ITV (the main commercial channel) and is produced by Granada Television, a company with a reputation for innovation and "quality" programming.
In comparison with Panorama, the BBC's rival current-affairs programme, which was studio-based and featured several items, World in Action was, in the words of Gus Mcdonald, "born brash." It devoted each half-hour episode to a single issue and, abandoning the studio and presenter, put the story itself up-front.
World in Action stands as one of the finest achievements of public service television in Britain--of programming driven by the desire to inform and educate viewers as much as to entertain them.

These require that the subject of criticism be fully and fairly informed of the criticism and World In Action’s failure to comply with the Codes has resulted in gross unfairness to Monsanto and unnecessary alarm to the public.

World War I or the First World War was the first war that involved nations spanning more than half the globe, hence world war.

In One World Peter Singer examines four major issues affecting the world today from a "global ethical viewpoint": the impact of human activity on our atmosphere, international trade regulation (specifically the role of the World Trade Organization), the idea of national sovereignty, and the distribution of aid.
Similarly, the consequences of actions leading to global warming aren't particularly obvious to consumers -- who thus remain convinced that their little pollution-contribution doesn't amount to much as far as the bigger picture goes.
