 Wu Jingzi, a native of Quanjiao County in the Qing Dynasty, was the author of the great satiric novel The Scholars.
In the backyard Yi Garden there was Wu Jingzi’s study―Wenmushanfang, a richly ornamented building with waterside pavilions, luxuriant and well-spaced flowers and trees and winding paths leading to a secluded spot.
The Memorial of Wu Jingzi, a state-owned institution, covers an area of 5,000 square meters, with a land preservation of 50,000 square meters.

Wu Ching-tzu (or Wu Ching-tse) was a Chinese writer born in 1701 in Quanjiao (全椒; Ch'uan-chiao) County in eastern Anhui (Anhwei) Provence.
Wu was born into a well-to-do family (his father was a Qing Official), but met no success himself.
There is a museum in his honor located in his hometown of Quanjiao, near Chuzhou.
