  Huazhong University of Science and Technology - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST; Chinese: 华中科技大学; pinyin: Huázhōng Kējì Dàxué) is a key university directly under the administration of the Ministry of State Education of the People's Republic of China.
The institute was evaluated in 1960 to be a key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of State Education.
Graduate students began to be enrolled in 1978, and in 1984, the institute became one of 22 universities to be approved by the State Council to establish a graduate school.

Its main campus is in Wuhan, the capital of Central China's Hubei Province, with a second campus in Beijing.
Its notable alumni include Wen Jiabao, the Premier of China's State Council, who attended the Beijing campus when it was known as the Beijing Institute of Geology.
The university suspended operations from 1966-1970 due to the Cultural Revolution, and reopened in Jiangling County, Hubei Province, in 1970 as Hubei College of Geology.

For the third consecutive year, Spring Arbor University is participating in an exchange program with Wuhan University of Technology by hosting Xu Zhisuo, dean of the School of Foreign Languages at WUT.
Xu is the third professor from China to visit the University since WUT and Spring Arbor University formed a partnership in 2002.
While this year is the final in the agreement signed in 2002, Xu hopes the universities will continue using each other as resources to help diversify the educational experiences of their students.

On Wednesday, University of Colorado geographer Jim Wescoat opened the conference by showing that while the importation of water management lessons to the United States was rare, it was not completely without precedent.
These twin topics were balanced admirably by David Getches, University of Colorado School of Law, and Sarah Van de Wetering, a Missoula writer and attorney and former Associate Director of the Natural Resources Law Center.
As expected, the theme of protecting public values in water management was shown to be a nearly universal concern, pursued worldwide through a variety of imperfect strategies.
