Annous has been working with a team of scientists and engineers from USDA-ARS-Eastern Regional Research Center and Pennsylvania State University on developing and evaluating a new processing line for decontaminating fresh and minimally processed fruits and vegetables.
Annous has initiated field study in collaboration with Dr. Nathan Reed, Pennsylvania State University, Fruit Research and Extension Center, for determining the survival of Escherichia coli on apples under commercial storage conditions.

ARS News - March 2005 - The Eastern Regional Research Center (ERRC) in Wyndmoor, Pennsylvania, recently announced the opening of the Center of Excellence in Extrusion and Polymer Rheology (CEEPR).
The goal of the new center is to create value-added, novel foods, food ingredients, and nonfood or industrial biodegradable products from underused agricultural materials such as whey or corn byproducts.
