The Wyoming State Legislature is the legislative branch of the U.S. State of Wyoming.
It is a bicameral state legislature, conisting of a 60 member Wyoming House of Representatives, and a 30 member Wyoming Senate.
The move by the legislature was motivated by a number of factors, including bringing Eastern women to the territory to increase its population, to publicize the new territory, to bring more voters into the fold for existing political elites, and by genuine concerns that women should be allowed the vote.

Wyoming water law dates back to territorial days and is based on the doctrine of "prior appropriation." Under this doctrine, the first person to put water to beneficial use secures the "senior right" to that water.

The Wyoming legislature, in its infinite wisdom, has cobbled together a bill that requests the federal government reimburse the state for elk killed by wolves, which the feds re-introduced to Yellowstone National Park in 1995.
Wyoming bureaucrats believe wolves are costing the state $1,320,000 a year in lost revenue, which is the dollar amount requested of the feds.
It is preposterous for the Wyoming legislature to charge the federal government for wolf-killed elk.

In order to prevent another financial crisis for the Wyoming Department of Health's HIV/AIDS Care and AIDS Drug Assistance Program, the Wyoming Legislature for the first time has agreed to fund the health department's HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis Program, the Wyoming Tribune-Eagle reports (Fashek, Wyoming Tribune-Eagle, 3/29).
The HIV/AIDS Care and ADAP Program, which is part of the health department's HIV/AIDS/Hepatitis Program and is funded by the same $340,000 annual HHS grant, in 2002 ran out of funding that was supposed to last through March 2003 (Kaiser Daily HIV/AIDS Report, 11/22/02).
In addition, the state health department and other groups next week are scheduled to meet in Cheyenne to hold the first statewide conference on the connection between drug use, AIDS and hepatitis, among other issues (AP/Billings Gazette, 3/30).
