  2004 Covernor's Capitol Art Exhibition
It is designed to not only serve as a celebration of the talents of the artists within the State, but also to support artists with purchase awards, provide a venue for sales and showcase their work throughout the summer in the Wyoming State Museum in Cheyenne.
Wyoming's Native American culture is reflected by several artists, as are native animals like the bison, pronghorn antelope and of course, horses.
Wyoming's Arts Council is doing a fine job of making clear the role that the arts play in Wyoming's economy, national identity, and in celebrating its various cultures.

The cornerstone of the Wyoming State Capitol was laid in Cheyenne on May 18, 1887.
The height of both the center and wings from ground to roof is about 60 feet, although the distance from the grade of the building to the top of the spire on the dome is 146 feet.
The Wyoming Capitol has been, and still is, a dominant structure on the Cheyenne skyline, in addition to being historically one of the most important buildings in the State.

In the rotunda of the Capitol, Governor Jim Geringer and the Commanding Officer of the USS WYOMING submarine, Commander John Nicholson, unveiled a display unit which showcases the actual submarine bearing Wyoming’s name.
Nicholson said the display unit is important as it allows Wyoming citizens to be aware of one of the state’s namesake ships and the “very important role it plays in our national defense system.” The USS WYOMING is the fourth U.S. Naval ship to be named after the state.
The state's motto, "Cedant Arma Toga," means "Force shall yield to Law." The three stars represent the three previous ships which bore the name "Wyoming".
