		Look, if a tool author is willing to fully parse the underlying language, preprocessing the source as it does so is trivial in comparison.
		Languages can be loosely classified by how much safety they enforce by default.
		Othe r languages are at the other end, such as Scheme or Haskell.

		One problem you may have is that you claim to have 3 "native" languages.
		My mother is French, and French was technically my first language, because this is what she spoke to me day in and day out as I was growing up and we still speak together in French (as I do with my the rest of her side of the family when I go visit every summer).
		Re your native language, FWIW, the UN and many of the NGO's would consider your native language to be English, since that's the language you did your undergraduate (and graduate) degree in.

		Learning shorthand syntax and semantics isn't just an "obscurity of the trade", its a fundamental tradeoff we've made to use languages with useful shorthand notations, and deliberate restrictions on unsafe practices, instead of using, say, scheme.
		Its not so much that knowledge of syntax is equivalent to seniority, its that not knowing the basic syntax of your language of choice is a sign of laziness.
