X-Men - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
This was illustrated in a scene of the second X-Men film, directed by openly gay director Bryan Singer in which Bobby Drake "came out" as a mutant to his parents.
In the first, the X-Men encountered the U.S.S. Enterprise crew captained by James T. Kirk, as featured in the original Star Trek series.
In 1992, the Fox Network launched an unrelated X-Men animated series with the roster of Beast, Cyclops, Gambit, Jean Grey, Jubilee, Professor X, Rogue, Storm and Wolverine with Bishop and Cable frequently guest starring.

For the X-Men franchise, unlike other well known film series, he had little to expand upon from Kamen's original.
For the sequel, Fox decided to set a record by globally releasing the film on the same date in 93 nations, saturating the market with nearly 9,000 prints of the film.
Finally, a distinguished title theme is introduced into the series, and the liberal choral addition roots the score and film into their proper genre.

 Barnes & Noble.com - Men in Black -- Barry Sonnenfeld - DVD - Widescreen / Superbit
As imaginative and absurd as the comic-book series that inspired it, Men in Black is an entertaining send-up of self-important sci-fi flicks -- a blockbuster action film that delivers all the expected thrills while managing to revel in its own silliness.
Men in Black was a box office smash, inspiring an animated children's television series and a hit soundtrack album that featured a performance by star (and rapper) Smith.
Nicknamed the "men in black" for their nondescript uniform of black suit, shoes, tie, and sunglasses, the agents are assigned to recover a bauble that's been stolen by an intergalactic terrorist (Vincent D'Onofrio).

Posted by: mainstream at October 3, 2005 09:33 AM alrite guys here's the deal, marvel screwed up the whole series having wolverine meet up with rouge in the first place, i mean come on they should have introduced gambit in the first one to set the bar.
But the only way he would work in the film is with a proper introduction and a lot of screen time, but Wolverine has that part already covered and its too late in the game for a proper introduction.

 Review: Men In Black
Men in Black is an outright comedy (in fact, some of its satire is directed at movies like last year's box office champ), not a pastiche of worn sci-fi/adventure elements, and there's no big space battle to be found.
Men in Black's deliciously unconventional spirit lends a refreshing twist to a premise that has fueled numerous conspiracy theory movies and one currently-popular television series.
Men in Black, the new science fiction comedy from cinematographer-turned-director Barry Sonnenfeld (Get Shorty), postulates that such stories are not the result of fertile imaginations, but accurate representations of the truth.

Men in black are believed to be very strange creatures, perhaps aliens or government agents, who visit UFO witnesses and warn them not to tell anyone about their UFO experiences.

Film Review: 'Men In Black II': Getting Freaky With It
"Men In Black II" has jokes, action, and lots of funky aliens—including a seven-ton worm, a two-headed man and a snake lady—that give new meaning to the phrase "get your freak on" But the film does not have an ounce of tension.
Without tension, we're left with a series of visually interesting scenes that, depending on your investment in them, will either amuse you mildly or a great deal.
At the same time that it seems designed for the 13-year-old male, it also holds some amusement for adults who enjoy a film with no pretension that it is about more than entertainment.
