 X-Men (2000)
In the end, "X-Men" is a comic book movie.
I have seen this movie and would like to comment on it
A movie that gave the background on every character in the comic books would be 6 hours long.

The Manila Times Internet Edition ENTERTAINMENT > X2: X-Men United: An expert cast exerts
The movie is a treat though the rest of the film fails to equal the superb opening scene, in terms of exhilaration, thrills, and staging.
The movie tends to get dour and exhausting at certain points but Nightcrawler always comes to the rescue to spice the proceedings with his brand of mutant humanity and humor (of which there is little of in X2).
The movie tends to sag in certain portions and Stryker, though expertly played by Bryan Cox, doesn’t come across as extremely evil.

 X2: X-Men United Greg's Preview - Yahoo! Movies
The main departure that both movies have made with Mystique is to make her such an acrobat and martial arts expert; in the comics, she's a fine fighter, but not quite on the level the movie suggests.
Movies is glad to oblige, with 13 great clips from the movie, clocking in at well over 15 minutes; they represent a sizeable little chunk of the movie.
The movies, however, wisely choose to keep her ability down to just that one (who wants an invincible character flying around?), but this time around, she's mostly in the movie as Iceman's romantic interest, which is alright, really.

Her role in X Men 2 was very thin so unless her part was beefed up quite substantially then I very much doubt it.
Rumours are circulating that Orlando Bloom is being considered for the role of Gambit in X Men 3.
Rumours are circulating that X Men 3 is being discussed with a May 2006 release.

Tuesday Movie Night - X Men
Subject: Tuesday Movie Night - X Men: The Movie
This week's film is "X Men: The Movie".
People have also compared "Scary Movie" and "American Pie" to "There's Something About Mary" and "Me, Myself & Irene" because of the bodily function sight gags used in all of them (think hair gel, ice cream, and apple pie) However, the genres that are the background for the offensive humor are different in each case.

 X2: X-MEN UNITED
Speaking of which, the movie kicks off with a humdinger of a scene in which a teleporting mutant with an over-the-top Germanic accent infiltrates the White House and attempts to kill the U.S. President.
That’s the rub unfortunately: if you haven’t seen the original movie or don’t remember it too well, then you’d probably be lost.
One know this is all fiction not because all mutants seem to have cool superpowers, but because in real life George W. Bush would no doubt have sent off all the mutants to concentration camps at Guantanamo Bay in Cuba in violation of several international treaties.

 Review: X-Men
The giant spherical room within Professor X's school is impressive, as are chambers in Magneto's abode, and the glass-and-plastic apartment shown later in the film.
He is opposed by his old friend, the telepath Professor X (Patrick Stewart), and his band of "X-Men": Cyclops (James Marsden), whose eyes emit laser blasts; Dr. Jean Grey (Famke Janssen), whose skills are in telekenesis; and Storm (Halle Berry), who can control the weather.
They are Rogue (Anna Paquin), a frightened teenage girl who has recently discovered that she cannot touch another human being without draining that person's life energy, and Wolverine (Hugh Jackman), a fast healer with an adamantine skeleton and retractable, razor-sharp claws that spring from the backs of his hands.

 Movie Review for X-Men 2 PREVIEW - 2002-08-23
It has since been released on the web, through the X-Men Official Movie Site, and we can only hope that someone will have the sense to give this thing a run in theaters as well.
Behind him are the “X-Kids”, many of whom we saw in the original movie, but stand to have expanded roles in this film.
Professor X and Magneto locked in a battle of wits, played out on a chessboard inside Magneto’s maximum-security plastic prison.

 Weapon X Files: X-Men Movie
The team in the movie consists of Cyclops, Jean Grey, and Storm, all led by Xavier.
In movie continuity, Cyclops and Jean are not yet married (though they share a room in the mansion), and Jean is a doctor.
There are many, many ways that the movie is different from the actual mainstream continuity of the comics.

IGN: The Stax Report: Script Review of X²
For those of you currently residing on the far side of the moon, X² is the highly anticipated sequel to the summer 2000 hit X-Men, a live-action adaptation of the classic Marvel Comic.
X² raises the stakes for its characters considerably and establishes many momentous things still to come in the inevitable X-Men 3.
There are a number of subplots in X², including: Logan?s investigation into his mysterious past, which is tied to Stryker; the X-Men?s first encounter with Nightcrawler (Cumming); and Magneto?s (McKellen) growing resolve that his crusade is the only way for mutantkind to survive.

Men in Black - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Such reports have led to speculation that Men In Black accounts are not part of any objective reality, but are rather best explained by altered states of consciousness, such as fantasy-prone personalities, sleep paralysis, hypnagogic states and the like.
In UFO conspiracy theories, the term Men in Black (MIBs), also known as Men in Gray or Men in Grey, are alleged to be men dressed in black suits claiming to be government agents who attempt to harass or threaten UFO witnesses into silence.
The men suggest—or the witnesses assume—that they are government agents, and often flash convincing-looking badges and demand that the witness recant their story or hand over photographs or physical evidence of a UFO.

 Amazon.com: DVD: X-Men (2000)
5 stars for X-Men the movie but 0 stars for X-Men 1.5 the DVD.
Usually I hate it when movies introduce too many characters in too little time, but here I have no problem with it, since all of the characters are unique and distinguishable.

14850 Cinema: X2 a wild ride for the X-Men and for us
X2 is a beautiful movie in many ways, from gorgeous arctic vistas to the stark beauty of Magneto's sterile plastic cage, but it's also worth noting that the ensemble cast includes some alarmingly attractive actors, both men and women.
These two, as Dr. Xavier and Magneto, respectively, bring a tremendous gravity to their performances that serves to anchor the movie.
The movie features a plot to turn the government against the mutants (oh no, not again), but the perpetrator has an ulterior motive -- he's bent on revenge.

CBC Arts: Lawsuit says upcoming movie is an 'X-Men' rip-off
Movie studio 20th Century Fox and comic-book house Marvel have filed a lawsuit against the producers of Zoom, alleging the yet-to-be-made movie steals from the X-Men series.
Directed by Bryan Singer, the X-Men movies pulled in a combined total of $700 million US in worldwide ticket sales.

 YMA Movie Review - X Men 2
Values in the movie which parents may wish to encourage include: the value of diversity, equal gender roles, friendship, loyalty and endurance through adversity.
Parents may wish to discuss the use of violence and deception as a means of achieving desired ends, and discuss alternative methods of conflict resolution.
As a result, parents may wish to discuss some of the fears and misconceptions associated with the discrimination of minority groups.

 Comics2Film: X-Men
Outtakes included Professor X having difficulty navigating his chair and an unexpected walk-on by Spider-Man. Singer was unsure if these clips would be included on a DVD of the movie and seemed to be inclined to just keep them for the fans.
Never-before-seen footage comprised of six movie sequences (available as part of 'Extended Branching' or to be viewed one after another in a special section).
This would also represent the best July opening for a movie, knocking down the most financially successful comic to film conversion: Men In Black, which had a $51.1 million opening in 1997.

Save the Mutants! - The Army targets superheroes for extinction in X2. By David Edelstein
In the movie's most elegant action scene, he insouciantly pulls the iron out of the blood of a hapless guard, then sails imperiously out of his cell on something like an iron carpet.
He already has Magneto as a prisoner in a fantastic, no-metal cage (a walking supermagnet has a way with metal), and his sights are set on Professor X and the mutant kids in the academy.
But the movie is in a different league from the standard Hollywood comic-book blockbuster.

 Crosswalk.com - "X-2: X-Men United" - Movie Review
This is one cool movie that gives us a story full of interesting characters, amazing special effects and absolutely incredible CGI effects that make every minute a visual buffet.
Parents don't let the PG-13 fool you, this movie is too intense and scary for little ones who can't discern what is make-believe and what is reality.
Bottom Line: I enjoyed this movie and can safely say it won't disappoint the fans who like plenty of action, special effects, interesting characters and unbelievable stunts.

The Shape of Thing, X2: X-Men United, Man on a Train, Only the Strong Survive--New York Movie Review
LaBute’s debut film, In the Company of Men, was widely viewed as a condemnation of male privilege—the men in the movie systematically burnished and then dismantled the soul of an unsuspecting wallflower—and The Shape of Things, which began its life as a stage play, is being touted as that film’s companion piece.
But, in his plays and in his movies based on his own material, LaBute is fond of utilizing people as glorified puppets in order to prop up his misanthropic theses.
As in many a French movie, especially crime movie, the philosophe and the crook turn out to be each other’s mirror image.

X2: X-Men United Listing at Box Office Prophets
A movie that was perhaps too short and didn't do enough with all its characters, X-Men still did incredibly well at the box office and pleased its hardcore and not-so-hardcore fan base.
The biggest challenge for X-Men was to deliver a big action movie in a short period of time, a challenge that ultimately was the cause for most of the criticism regarding X-Men.
The heavy social undertones throughout the movie, which basically mirrored the ideological differences between Malcolm X and Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr., were successful in being entertaining as well.

Barbershop Movie Review: X MEN 2
The Second Coming of the superhero blockbuster X-men has a good chance to top the first, which grossed $157 million domestically.
The story picks up where the first movie ended: the mutant humans fight for their place in a future society, and then it becomes a fun thrill ride that heroically surpasses the original.

The Superhero Hype! Boards - Lady Deathstryke has spoilt any chance for X23 to go in any x men movie
There was never a point for X23 to be in a future X-Men movie, simply because she is the same thing as Deathstrike: a woman/girl with adamantium claws and a healing factor.
At the age of twelve years, X23 was put through the Weapon X process, although only her bone claws were laced with adamantium.
In x2 Lady deathstryke is the female euivalent to wolverine and their probaly gona use her in the wolverine spin off and not X23.

 Amazon.com: Books: X-Men: A Novelization
There are a few things in the book that weren't in the movie at all, such as, at the beginning, parts that explain what it was like for Cyclops and Storm when they first got their powers.
I like movie novelizations where both the movie and the book are good, but in different ways.
Well and body who has seen the movies, or read a comics knows that he only has three claws that come out from in between the nucles.
