Roman Emperors - DIR Battle Descriptions
Siege of Lugdunum, A.D. The Battle of Lyon took place 19 February 197 and involved more than 100,000 men.
Battle of Ad Decimum, A.D. Battle fought as part of Roman invasion of Vandal Africa on September 13th, 533 during the reign of Justinian, at the tenth milestone (Ad Decimum) south of Carthage.
According to Cassius Dio, the reason for this battle was that after Varus became the governor of Germania province (7 A.D.), he made the mistake of giving orders and asking for tribute from some Germanic tribes as if they had been subdued.

 Christian grooming and clothing
"Let your women be such as adorn themselves with shamefacedness and modesty, not with twisted hair, nor with gold, nor with pearls, or precious garments." Cyprian (circa 250 AD), 5.544.
But self-control and modesty do not consist only in purity of the flesh, but also in seemliness and in modesty of dress and adornment.
Let the head of men be clipped, unless they have curly hair.

The Village Voice: Features: Post-Straight by Chris Nutter
But this process has been evident for years in big cities where gay men are rewriting the rules of what it takes to be the ideal man. Glossy magazines have noticed that straight men are looking more gay, but the influence is more than a matter of working out, waxing, and wearing Prada.
Currently the Gayellow Pages lists 288 entries in the New York area that identify as "gay owned," 187 "gay friendly," and 198 specifying a primarily gay clientele—meaning everything from laundromats to lawyers' offices with rainbow flags on display.
He called men bitch—as a term of endearment—altered his style from "T-shirts and jeans to leather pants and tight black T-shirts," went to circuit parties with his gay buddies, and even watched gay porn with them for a laugh.

Coast Guard-manned Naval Vessels in World War II
There were only two survivors from the 198 men of the crew who were aboard at the time, and 57 members of an Army stevedore unit died in the explosion; the commanding officer and seven others were ashore when their ship sank.
From 1924 to 1926, 25 of the Navy's older destroyers were transferred to the Coast Guard for prohibition-enforcement duties, and when a number of the oldest were returned for disposal, the Coast Guard received six flush-deckers - the Navy's most modern at the time.
Since its cutters had been serving as convoy escorts almost from the beginning of the United States involvement in World War II, it was to be expected that the Coast Guard should provide crews for some of the myriad escort vessels built for the Navy during the war.

Wars are usually lost (men being by collective nature slow to strategic thought), due to the time-condemned practice of fighting the last war with the new war's weaponry, technology, and tactics.
Also bearing striking resemblance to the Imperial War Cabinet of World War I was the fact that inferior naval commanders in the Mediterranean were appointed due to political connections with their superior diplomatic commanders, which created a sense of confusion in the chain of command (Mackesy 198-199).
World War I was fought by commanders far distant from the field of battle, men who had a fundamental misunderstanding of the new hardships of war.
