XPlay is based on the company's MacDrive program, which allows users to run general Mac software on a PC.
I suppose XPlay was a natural extension of MacDrive once the iPod was released.
XPlay has been available in beta form for months -- I've been running it since day one at home -- but the full version only came out a few days ago.

I was originally fancinated by XPlay when it came out as it was one of the first iPod software packages out there to support the iPod on Windows in a well integrated way.
XPlay comes with a mini-version of MacDrive so mounting the HFS formatted iPod was not an issue.
XPlay 2 didn’t quite improve that as much as I would have liked.

My final problem with Xplay is the fact that they go out of their way to find s***ty games I've never heard of, and then tell me how bad they are.
