Alonso is comfortable in possession with the vision to spot passes and the ability to execute them.
Alonso's speciality at Liverpool are no doubt his long range strikes, scoring twice from iniside his own half, from 65 yards in the 5-3 FA Cup win over Luton in January 2006 and also in a League game vs Newcastle in September 2006.
Alonso lost his way a bit at Liverpool in the last season, his usually sublime passes were quite wayward, but hopefully he will return to his very best in the 2007-2008 season.
