	Project Xanadu - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Project Xanadu was founded by Ted Nelson in 1960 as the original hypertext project.
		However, this version of Xanadu was successfully demonstrated at the Hacker's Conference and generated considerable interest.
		In 1998, Nelson released the source code to Xanadu as Project Udanax, in the hope that the techniques and algorithms used could help to overturn some software patents.

		Xanadu, Zanadu, or Shangdu (Chinese: 上都; pinyin: Shàngdū) was the summer capital of Kublai Khan's Mongol Empire, which covered much of Asia.
		However, they opened up the empire to westerners, allowing travellers like Venetian explorer Marco Polo in 1275 to report the wonders of the Eastern capital to their fellow Europeans.
		The reported splendour of Xanadu later inspired Samuel Taylor Coleridge to write his great poem Kubla Khan and caused Xanadu to become a metaphor for opulence.

		Writing about this movie is going to be PAINFUL, because even though Xanadu was not the greatest movie ever made, I own it, and I enjoy watching it from time, especially when roller skating friends are visiting.
		There are two different types of skating: recreational skating at the beach and show skating at the grand opening of the Xanadu Roller Palace.
		Michael Beck and Olivia Newton-John spend a lot of time on roller skates, and this is somewhat interesting to see, but most of their skating is your average, advanced-beginner, bike path skating.
