Xanthi was fortunate right from the start as the club did not have to compete in the local championships but began their quest in the B' Division of the Greek soccer league.
Xanthi's dream was to get promoted to the A' Division of the Greek soccer league and join the "club" of the so called "big" teams in the Greek soccer scene.
For 23 years Xanthi met glory and sorrow as they went up and down the ladder in the B' and C' Division of the Greek league but the club's management never gave up hoping for the dream to become a reality.
