		XeTeX is fine, when you want to use only Mac fonts.
		I haven't seen this; in fact, I don't believe it to be possible (XeTeX using bitmap fonts, that is).

	xetex, fonts with period in full name
		Using xetex I'm trying to use some of the Apple fonts that com packaged with, I think, iTunes and unfortunately they have a period in the full name of the font.
		Fonts and files in Mac OS X do not always have a one to one correspondance (a whole family of fonts may be contained within a single file).
		As a final followup on this thread for completeness, XeTeX 0.99 adds support for calling a font by its family name and postscript name, as well as the full name.

		Oggi su #latex in irc, mi hanno consigliato di usare XeTeX che ha la possibilità di usare in modo più semplice rispetto a LaTex i font di MacOSX e dalle prime prove ne sono molto soddisfatto.
		XeTeX non è un front-end a TeX, ma un'estensione del tipo 'pdftex', che rende possibile richiamare direttamente i font di MacOS X. Ho dato un'occhiata, ma ancora la documentazione è molto lacunosa (eufemismo).

	My eventual font success
		XeTeX is a native OS X variant of TeX that can use (basically) any font that OS X has installed.
		XeTeX also works with ConTeXt, which is a very interesting macro system.
		So although XeTeX works with LaTeX and it would be easy to use Minion that way there was one package I had been using previously that doesn't work when rendered through XeTeX instead of pdfTeX: the microtype package which doees a very nice job of character protrusion.
