Han Dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The dynasty was founded by the prominent family known as the Liu clan.
The Chinese people consider the reign of the Han Dynasty, which lasted for 400 years, to be one of the greatest periods in the entire history of China.
During this time, the dynasty's goal was to relieve the society of harsh laws, wars, and conditions from both the Qin, external threats from nomads, and early internal conflicts within the Han court.

 Han Dynasty
During the Han Dynasty, China officially became a Confucian state and prospered domestically: extending its political and cultural influence over Vietnam, Central Asia, Mongolia, and Korea before it finally collapsed under a mixture of domestic and external pressures.
The beginning of the Han Dynasty can be dated either from 206 BC when the Qin dynasty crumbled or 202 BC when Liu Bang killed Xiang Yu, the leader of a competing rebellion that sought to re-instate the Zhou dynasty aristocracies.

Xin Dynasty - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Xin Dynasty (Chinese: 新朝; Hanyu Pinyin: xīn cháo; meaning New Dynasty; 8-23) was a "dynasty" (even though, contrary to the usual meaning of a dynasty, it had but one emperor) in Chinese history.
It followed the Western Han Dynasty and preceded the Eastern Han Dynasty.
The Xin Dynasty's sole emperor, Wang Mang (王莽) was the nephew of Grand Empress Dowager Wang Zhengjun, and he became powerful after the death of her step-grandson, Emperor Ai in 1 BC.

It is fair enough to state that the contemporary empires of the Han Dynasty and the Roman Empire were the two superpowers of the known world.

 A New Dynasty in 1916?
Additionally, I am calling the hypothetical new dynasty discussed here simply "The New Dynasty." In an earlier draft, I had cleverly called it "The Xin Dynasty," on the grounds that "Xin" means "new." Further research reminded me that the usurper Wang Mang had established a regime with the same pronunciation 2000 years ago.
Although considered to be a friend of the reformers who sought to establish a constitutional monarchy, he supported the Dowager Empress in her last, unhappily successful effort to stifle reform in the final years of the dynasty.
The reality of the New Dynasty would be that, while in some respects traditional in form, the government would actually have been a moderately conservative military dictatorship.
