 Emperor Xuanzong, Zhu Zhanji
Xuande died in 1435, to be succeeded by his son, Zhu Qizhen, or the Zhengtong Emperor.
In many ways, therefore, the Xuande reign was thought of by the meritocracy at the time and since as a kind of restoration, a going back to the right course exemplified by the abortive Jianwen reign of 1398 to 1402.
Xuande’s death after just a decade on the throne came as a shock to both court and people, and was much regretted then and since.

The third emperor of the Ming Dynasty, Zhu Di or the Yongle Emperor, was particularly aggressive and personally led major campaigns against Mongolian tribes to the north and west.
He also wanted those in other countries to be aware of China's power, and to perceive it as the strong country he believed it had been in earlier Chinese dynasties, such as the Han and the Song; he thus revived the traditional tribute system.

China obviously sent in hundreds of thousands to get 70,000 troops dead and no one is stupid enough to invade a country like Vietnam with just 10,000 troops.
Then somewhere in the 1400's, China finally won a war with Vietnam, but their victory was short lived since 20 years later, Vietnam finally kicked out the Chinese once and for all to now.
It was obvious China launched that attack for Cambodia, because the time of the attack was very close to the time that Vietnam invaded Cambodia and which is why Vietnamese troops were there.

It was not up to China whether or not to keep An Nan, China lost numerous battles, hundreds of thousands perhaps millions of soldiers trying to hold on to An Nan..
China then kept on invading up until the 1400 and lost every single war except one for which they had Vietnam for 20 years until they lost it again.
Then in 1979 China lost, so if you take 1979-900(since 900 AD was when Vietnam was able to kick the Chinese out)that's more than 1000 years of being able to defeat China and keep them out.
