The Chinese archer Xue Haifeng easily progressed to the next stage of Men’s competition, as he shot 162 points in his 1/32 match against Mexican Jorge Pablo Chapoy (153 points).
Xue’s score is today’s best score so far.

 PR - Wunderle Eliminated from Individual Competition
In a very close round of eight match, 2000 Olympic individual silver and team bronze medalist Wunderle (Mason City, Ill.) and 27th ranked Haifeng Xue (CHN) nearly matched each other shot for shot throughout the entire match.
The two competitors stayed within one to two points of each other and after the first six, then nine arrows, the score was tied.
It came down to the final arrow and first Xue shot a nine, then Wunderle ended with a perfect 10 to take the match 165-164 and advance to the quarterfinals.

The American Vic Wunderle and the Chinese Xue Haifeng were still tied with both 155 with each one arrow to go.
Wunderle, who won two medals at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, had to go to the bottom of himself to shoot a 10 and keep his Olympic dream alive.
