Xupiter is a now-defunct Internet company known for its Internet Explorer toolbar, also called Xupiter.
On June 09 2006, Xupiter creator Daniel Yomtobian issued a cease and desist order in response to a chronicle of his business career posted on Webdefenders.net.
Years ago Xupiter did not have the toolbar, simply visiting Xupiter.com was enough to have your browser hijacked.

If there are still some Xupiter exe's (I don't think so but it's better to go the safe way) then disable them by unchecking the checkbox.
The Xupiter exe's were not listed in the startup folder, as I recall (this problem is not my computer here).
The only Xupiter leftovers after the removal using Spybot were a few Xupiter exe's only in the Windows XP Prefetch folder.

"Xupiter" (which this file is a legacy from) consists of an Internet Explorer toolbar containing link buttons to the search engine at xupiter.com and a task run at Windows startup which downloads updates to the software and may launch pop-ups.
The toolbar was developed by them based on generic toolbar code licensed from Orion Studios (which is why this name appears on XupiterToolbar.exe).
Restart the computer and you should be able to delete the Xupiter folder in Program Files.

I have heard that when you uninstall the xupiter program that if you do not go into the system and physically delete the files from the system it will generate pop-ups one right after another.
I have also heard that if you do not remove the registry keys it will also try to access the page as a keyword search engine even after it is uninstalled.
There is a registry key (I think) that will let you specify a search engine in IE that if you type a keyword in the address bar it will default to that engine to find the content you are looking for.

I mean, now I keep getting pop-up and an installation request for something from Xupiter Inc. I click no every single time, but it come back over and over.
Xupiter is popping up ads under IE on the PCs at uni.
Worse then that, the windows were minimized, I couldn't restore or close them and I had to end the Explorer process to get rid of them.

I've picked up a thing similar to a virus called "Xupiter." I think there are some web sites where this "parasiteware" as it's called (I did a Google search) will latch onto your system if you visit the site.
The way it is deleted depends on which version of Xupiter it is and which version of windows you're running.
Wolv3s if you do a google search on "xupiter" loads of info comes up about it - you should be able to find out which version you have and how to get rid of it.

I think they are modifying and re-releasing Xupiter on a constant basis, without updating the uninstaller.
