Yoper review, I gave a less-than-glowing personal experience with the most looked up (on DistroWatch) Linux distribution.
Yoper is still the only distribution I've dealt with that doesn't let me choose packages to install nor split the installation's directories (/home, /boot, etc.) into separate partitions.
Speaking of Yoper being compatible with all the major packaging methods, I tried installing Kopete from RPM, but it failed on not one, not two, but forty-six dependencies.

Auf der anderen Seite hat Yoper viele kleine Macken, die zwar einzeln betrachtet nicht arg ins Gewicht fallen, die jedoch in ihrer Summe den überragenden ersten Eindruck arg trüben.
Nun wäre es interessant festzustellen, wie sich Yoper auf neuerer Hardware macht - mein Rechner müsste eh dringend mal aufgerüstet werden...

Granted Yoper still has a way to go as compared to some of the other "commercial linux distros".
I'm not saying it's not good, just we need more packages added in, more testing done, etc. The rpm packages are optimized for speed on the Yoper distro so that's why the apt repos aren't that big for it yet.

The sound quality in Yoper is terrific, however, and I love the sound theme.

I'v put togheter a rig of old parts and the mobo(abit kg7raid) has onboard raid(highpoint hpt370a).
I've tried tried to install yoper on the array, but the two separate disks show, the raid array(sda0) doens't.
If Yoper is based on the Redhat hardware system, wouldn't a driver meant for redhat work with yoper?
