		I haven't used YAST for a while now (since SuSE 6.1 I think), but my main dissapointment with configuration tools in general is that most of them don't preserve the original file very well.
		YaST is less than 1% of the whole software offer (although I recall SuSE used do put other proprietary stuff in their CD in the past).
		And YaST comes with sources and with the right to change it for yourself and your friends (the distribution is only restricted if it is for profit).

		Normally, I associate YaST, the system management console in SUSE Linux, to be the epitome of user-friendly UNIX administration.
		I was trying to install some extra software, when YaST popped up an error window that asked me insert the SUSE 9.2 DVD in order for the installation to complete.
		SUSE Linux Professional 9.3 is now out, but I would be willing to bet that it has the same user-unfriendly way of letting you know about this problem.

		When a change to the IP settings is made and saved in yast / Network Devices / Network card, one can no longer connect to the outside world again until after also "tickeling" the settings over in yast / security and Users / Firewall.
		Instead it would be much better to fix it in yast: Yast should automatically renew the firewall settings correctly whenever the final "continue" button is pressed in yast / network card.
		If Yast were fixed properly, then the documentation would be fine as-is and there would be less for everyone to read,learn and remember.

		Oh yeah, I hope they place yast already on mandrake 10.1, it dosen't need to replace now mandrake tools or mandrake installtion (that I think is great), but it should be avaible as optional tools.
		I don't see why Yast would be different except if someone integrates the most generic components to KDE Control Panel for example.
		The yast license was what was blocking the cheap 5$ cd sets of SUSE, so now SUSE can soon also be offered like that, just as Mandrake, FC, Debian etcetc.

		When I was logging into yast, i got an error message saying I couldn't log in.
		Then I was able to get into Yast anyway and do whatever I needed to do.
