The apex Court had cancelled Yadav's bail in the Sarkar murder case and he was taken into custody on March 16 but was never lodged in the jail.
What angered the Court most was the allegation of CBI that Yadav and his escorts occupied two rooms earmarked for ICU purposes in the Hospital and that too when the diagnosis of his illness by All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) was "morbid obeisity with hyper tension".
The Bench said "it is clear from the medical reports that Yadav's illness is not such that it required 24 hours treatment by a doctor much less his presence in a hospital".

 UP governor invites Mulayam to form government
A day after 63-year-old Yadav submitted a letter to Shastri claiming support of 210 MLAs of various parties and independents in the 403-member House, the governor's principal secretary Shambhunath handed over a formal invitation (to form the government) at the latter's residence around 10 am on Thursday morning.
Yadav had on Wednesday told the governor, who asked him to furnish a list of MLAs supporting him, that he would prove his majority on the floor of the House.
Yadav, who met Shastri at the Raj Bhavan on Thursday, later told reporters that the composition of his ministry would be finalised after his swearing-in at the sprawling Laxman Mela grounds at 0930 IST on Friday.

Yadav always leaves a trail of question marks behind him, and more so when it comes to his developmental instincts.
Yadav suffers from all the failings of most north Indian politicians — casteism, linguistic chauvinism, cronyism and populism.
The real question is, if Yadav wants to be the Chandrababu Naidu of north India, does UP have the economic and social wherewithal to enable that transition from the feudalism, peasant populism and cultural chauvinism of the past to modern capitalism in the future.

The Supreme Court bench comprising Justice N. Santosh Hegde and Justice S. Sinha, while talking to Yadav's counsel, said that the Madhepura MP was ordered to be incarcerated and not be lodged in a 'five-star hotel'.
The CBI, in its report, wrote that on December 1, 2004, 54 people met Yadav in violation of jail rules and when the IG (Prison) Deepak Kumar Singh arrived at the Beur Jail to conduct a raid, he was illegally confined in a jail cell and threatened by Pappu Yadav.
The court asked the opinion of the Additional Solicitor General Amarendra Saran representing the CBI as to which prison Yadav should be shifted and should it be in Bihar or outside the state.

In spite of the damning phone record of the incarcerated Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP Pappu Yadav being made public, the leader, through his representative Surendra Singh Yadav, on Sunday, said that this whole "Mobilegate" was the creation of the opposition leaders and the media was adding fuel to the fire.
Surendra Yadav said that the phone seized in the prison actually belonged to the MP's sister but was being used by his father Chandra Narayan Yadav when he visited his son at the Beur Jail.
Blaming the media for blowing the incident out of proportion, Yadav said that the media, instead of providing coverage to the positive things happening in Bihar, was focusing on an incident that had virtually no bearing on the state that was on its way to progress and development.
