Yasunori Mitsuda - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Mitsuda was born in Tokuyama, Yamaguchi Prefecture, Japan, and raised in Kumage.
Mitsuda was allowed to compose the majority of the tracks for the game under the watchful eye of veteran composer Nobuo Uematsu, in the end arranging fifty-four tracks (Uematsu composing the remaining ten, having Noriko Matsueda assist him with one).
Mitsuda's style is difficult to pigeonhole, however, since he is able to compose music in several different styles depending on the demands of the project.

Mitsuda definitely has improved upon his skills as a composer; the music no longer goes to extremes in order to convey a mood as it did in his previous works.
Yasunori Mitsuda has done what I had never thought possible: he has taken the highly melodic Chrono Trigger themes, force-fused them with the darkly foreboding Xenogears rhythms, and created a masterpiece beyond any scope.

I think the most noteable soundtracks from Mitsuda are his Trigger (Which Uemetsu helped him with, so of course they were awesome), and Cross soundtracks, and his Xenogears Soundtrack.
