	Glacial Information
		According to Andersen and Borns (1997), glaciers in the western portion of North America were at their maximum during the last major advance approximately 14,000 to 15,000 YBP.
		Although the stratigraphic position of tills indicates that at 14,000 to 15,000 YBP the Saint Mary Glacier was no longer at its maximum, it does not reveal the exact position of the glacier at that time.
		In the region of Marias Pass, which is located at the southern edge of the park, lake sediments contained the Glacier Peak G ash underlain by the Mount St. Helens Jy ash (Carrara et al., 1986).

	Center for Environmental Communications
		The Bradyan (Peorian) interglacial period ended about 60,000 ybp (=years before present), and this marked the maximum extent of the Prairie Terrace (a broad deltaic plain characterized by highly oxidized silty to sandy clay soils; relict of the prairie terrace extends from the present site of Slidell through Mandeville and Ponchatoula to Baton Rouge).
		Between 30,000-6,000 ybp, sea level slowly began to rise (it was the end of the Wisconsin Glaciation, so the water ran back to the sea), thus ultimately forming the Pontchartrain Embayment when the downwarped portion of the Pontchartrain Basin was inundated.
		The river was a proper size, the flow rate was right, there was adequate sediment carried by the water, the Gulf coast was an appropriate depth and grade, and sea level was at a standstill.

		At 125 YBP, sea level was 20 to 50 feet higher than present level; most of Florida was under water.
		Gradual erosion processes inflicted by air, sun, wind, rain and wave action caused the sand shoals to solidify, the reefs to flatten, and to slowly slope down towards the receding sea level.
		At approximately 15,000 YBP (glacial period between 20,000 and 10,000 YBP), sea level started rising again at an approximate rate of 4 feet per 1,000 years.

	geology
		The oldest known rock layer of the Everglades is a limestone which was formed by deposition during the Pliocene and Pliestocene perods within a a shallow pseudo-atoll basin composed of reef material.
		This is evident in the limestone layers found within the Fort Thompson formation; the strata are similar to marl sediments that are currently being deposited by fresh water in southern parts of the Everglades at or near bedrock surfaces.
		The Miami limestone was dated at approximately 130,000 YBP, and the Anastasia Formation was dated through the presence of vertebrate and fauna fossils found in the layers for fresh water and terrestrail communities at 21,150 YBP.

	MLC Communique » YBP Library Services records now being added to WorldCat
		YBP Library Services, well-known as a major supplier of library materials for academic libraries is now adding records to WorldCat.
		The titles are being added as part of the agreement between YBPâs parent company, Baker and Taylor, and OCLC, to partner to provide bibliographic records to libraries.
		YBPâs product file is converted to MARC records that are then matched against WorldCat records through a batch process.

		The award recipient will also receive a travel grant of up to $1,000, funded by YBP, Inc., to be used to attend the ALA Annual Conference, where he/she will be recognized at the LAMA President's Program, the first meeting of the LAMA Board of Directors, and have the opportunity to attend other conference programs.

	Geotimes - February 2004 - Quest for the Lost Land
		The mandible dated to around 9,200 YBP, and a bone tool found in the same cave dated to 10,300 YBP (marine reservoir corrected to circa 9,800 YBP).
		During the last glacial maximum (about 15,000 YBP in the Queen Charlotte Islands) and for about 2,500 years afterward, glacial ice extended out from the Canadian mainland into Dixon Entrance, blocking navigation along northern Queen Charlotte Islands and between the islands and the mainland.
		Their research showed that by 13,200 YBP, the edible shellfish Macoma nasuta overcame the high sediment barrier and invaded the muddy sands of a mudflat that is now Hecate Strait, east of the Queen Charlotte Islands.

	Library Newslinks, Fall 2003 - BGSU Libraries
		When we first approached YBP to set up electronic ordering, they suggested that we beta test the major upgrade to their online system, Global Online Bibliographic Information, Edition 2 (GOBI2) simultaneously with setting up the electronic ordering process.
		We were quick to take advantage of this offer and avoid set-up on YBP's old system and transfer to the new system.
		Our beta test participation gave YBP feedback on GOBI2 functionality and provided library staff the chance to learn the new procedures on the new vendor system.

	Geotimes - February 2004 - The Ice-Free Corridor Revisited
		She concluded that the actual opening of a corridor to the south could not have occurred until about 13,000 YBP and extensive glacial lakes occupied much of the area until around 12,000 YBP, affirmed in subsequent studies by Dyke and colleagues.
		Settling the glacial history of the southern part of the ice-free corridor proved to be a thornier problem, with two competing interpretations of stratified glacial tills along the Rocky Mountain foothills and adjacent interior plains.
		At Charlie Lake, people were using fluted projectile points more than 10,500 YBP, but these were points that fit neither the Clovis nor the Folsom category; they are smaller, more triangular, and have multiple flutes at the base, a distinctive enough pattern that they are now called Charlie Lake points.
