Today Sobol went another step and in an interview on Army Radio this afternoon he slammed Israelis who call for an immediate cease-fire.

Author and playwright Yehoshua Sobol is not only opposed to the very idea of Avigdor Lieberman joining the next government, but calls on the Israel Our Home Party chairman to retract some parts of his party's platform.
Sobol said that Israel Our Home's platforms calls for a rejection of Israeli citizens, meaning a severe blow to the State of Israel's constitution.
This is a very dangerous thing, because if they decide one day to transfer the citizens of (the Arab Israeli district) of Wadi Ara to the Palestinian Authority's control, in two days residents of the Galilee can also say that they want to move to another government.

All About Jewish Theatre - The Development of Israeli Theatre– a brief overview
In 1969, A.B. Yehoshua (primarily known as a writer of fiction) wrote "A Night in May," examining the precarious walls of sanity threatened by fragmentation.
One of the main problems in treating this theme is that of Zionism versus Jewishness as shown by Otto Weininger's qualms in regarding the Holocaust as non-exclusively Jewish suffering and in trying to observe the relationship to the Palestinians not only through the sights of a gun.
Sobol and Besser were forced to resign from their message-charged (and to some over-charged) theater, soon after they mounted "Jerusalem Syndrome," an apocalyptic, video-clip style aggressive play containing severe warnings regarding Israel's future if the right-wing government of that time would not change its politics.

It also gave voice to the attitudes of a young audience which identified with attacks on the values of the founding generation and rebelled against the concept of paying the price of the nation’s wars with its life.
The Arabic stage of the Haifa Theatre was closed down, and plays containing a particularly strong anti-establishment statement, such as "Ephraim Goes Back to the Army," which drew an analogy between the occupation of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip, and the Holocaust, were rejected by the theatre.
The situation came to a head in 1988 with the closing of Sobol’s "Jerusalem Syndrome" in the wake of which the theatre management resigned.

Sheinfeld asks his readers to spare him the righteous words; Sobol thinks those of the left who do not share his view are stupid, and that they give the left a bad name.
If I follow Sobol and Sheinfeld and other representatives of the self-defined "new Israeli sanity" movement, it seems that we are reverting to the age-old adage that declares, "The Arabs understand only force."
