Yellow was selected as the result of a survey by well-known research institute.

What the manufacturers are concerned wiith are producing a vehicle of high value, to ensure their product will be selected over ther American counterparts.
There is another point as well; if an infant was being transported in a cab without the use of a child's carseat and the cab was involved in an accident wherein the infant was hurt/killed then the cab company would be at fault and liable (and the driver could face criminal charges).
Driving a cab is hard enough work, dealing with people cussing you all day...but to get cussed over trying to protect their own child is highly upsetting and I have almost come to blows over it with another driver.
