The higher parts are open, bleak and wild, strongly contrasting with the more gentle scenery of the well-wooded lowlands surrounding it.
Sloping heights rise from the main tableland in all directions, crested with broken masses of granite, locally named tors, and often singularly fantastic in outline.
The highest of these are Yes Tor and High Willhays in the north-west, reaching altitudes of 2028 and 2039 ft. Large parts of the moor, especially in the centre, are covered with morasses; and head-waters of all the principal streams of Devonshire (q.v.) are found here.

From our point to the west of Yes Tor, we had a clear optical illusion that the tor to the left of Yes Tor was higher than Yes Tor.
We all reached to the highest point on the Tor within 10 minutes of each other and the idea that West Mill was higher than Yes Tor was proved to be a pure optical illusion, but it does show how the eye can be fooled.
Yes Tor sits at a height of 619 metres and although much more impressive as a Tor than High Willhays, that scattered outcrop of rocks, less than 1 kilometre to the south, wins the highest point stakes for Dartmoor at a height of 621 metres.

This WAS the worst Yes production ever made (at least at the time it was originally put out).
Even a bad album by Yes is better by far than a good album by most groups out there, due to the superior musicianship of the members.
That being said, if you have experienced the jaw-dropping mastery of Yes in their Fragile to Going for the One years, this album is a significant letdown.

Well I am on dial up only and yes using Tor is slower which is to be expected, but even I have yet to receive a time out on any web site.
TBH I think with the increased publicity tor has received of late, it has had an impact on the speed a bit.
So, taking Tor as the example, if one of the hops in Tor is on a 3 MB pipe, but there are thousands of users going through that, then each user is only going to get a very small fraction of that speed.
