A high dividend yield is considered to be evidence that a stock is underpriced, whereas a low dividend yield is considered evidence that the stock is overpriced.
The yield of a financial instrument, usually a debt or other fixed income instrument, is the amount the holder is paid each year for leaving his or her money invested in that instrument.
If the payments of economic yield to holders of global debt exceed that which can be borne by the natural renewal of the Earth, it's current solar income for instance, that is an energy subsidy which typically comes from fossil fuel and other non-renewable resource.

This album continues in their road from a rough grunge beginning to a civilized rock.
Do the Evolution is one the hardest rocking tracks on the album, as well as another great satire upon human's and their beliefs that we are special.
The lyrics are great on this album, and a welcome change from the angst-ridden verse of past.

 don't stop, yield...
Yield, Pearl Jam's fifth album, was released on Epic Records on February 3, 1998 in the United States.
Recording for Yield got truly under way during the spring of 1997 when Jeff, Stone, Ed, Mike, and Jack convened in Stone's studio after approximately four months of rest after their European No Code tour ended in late November in Spain.
Carpenter Newman, Yield's album concept maker, has a suspiciously odd name that could turn out to be Eddie or some other member of PJ in disguise, or perhaps could turn out to be an actual person named Carpenter.

Yield is the best album of Pearl Jam's career, despite what the Vs-heads will tell you.
Opening the album is Brain of J, a song that had been in the Pearl Jam catalog for three years (making it's debut on the band's fall 95 tour), but had never seemed to be a staple.
It is a true collective effort, and it shows the band at the happiest point in their career (at the time, it seems they're even happier now), and to a point where they are mature and can handle their huge past successes.

It got a lot of stick from a lot of people as it is a little bit more experimental than some of their earlier stuff, but I think that just adds to the fact that this is one of the most musically talented bands in the world.
Yes, the album has it's fair share of rockers, but it has plenty of contemplative and more emotionally powerful moments than any of Pearl Jam's prior releases, and to be quite honest, still to this very date, Pearl Jam have never sounded as good as this.
As well as this, 'Yield' is the sound of one of the best modern day musical units working at the top of their game.

I think after three albums and a near nervous break down as a band, Pearl Jam finally realized that the only way they were going to keep it together was to take their sound wherever they wanted it to go and let the fans follow rather than just keep cranking out angst ridden rock tunes.
Yield on the other hand is probably one of the more attractive albums I’ve seen.
The biggest highlight of the album is probably the “Rockin’ in the Free World”/”W.M.A.” tag at the end of “Daughter”;.

For the first time in their career Pearl Jam seem to be in a state of decline and Yield is the album that is either going to resurrect them to royalty in the modern rock pantheon, or be the final nail in their coffin.
Yield is not the album that will propel them back into the spotlight but it should delay judgement on their fate until their next release.
It seems on Yield Pearl Jam has learned their lesson and is again giving the people what they want to hear.

Five Horizons: Feb 98 Song X - Yield / Given to Fly
This album is, without a doubt, the most honest, the most truthful, the most Pearl Jam of all of their records so far.
Yield is the sound of a band on the run, on the road, of individuals in motion -- not just physically, but emotionally, spiritually, mentally.
On the one hand, it's nothing more than what they have to say to us right now, take it or leave it; on the other hand it is a stake in the ground, a vivid chronicle of who and where these five people are in their lives right now.

In an unprecedented u-turn, after two critically acclaimed albums in "Vitalogy" and (the commercially disappointing) "No Code", Yield is the sound of a band trying to recover past glories but never quite achieving that agenda.

YIELD was nominated for the 1999 Grammy Award for Best Recording Package.
Opening with the hard-driving "Brain Of J," YIELD goes from a punky swagger representing man's arrogance in asserting his lofty place on the food chain ("Do The Evolution") to a free jazz approach and a disembodied Vedder vocal questioning the meaning of life ("Push Me, Pull Me").
Most of YIELD continues to ply the standard Pearl Jam sound: Vedder's pained emoting, the interesting use of dynamics between McCready and Gossard's guitars and solid rhythm-work from the Ament/Irons rhythm section.

Pearl Jam's fifth and most recent release, "Yield," delivers yet another change of pace for those loyal fans who have followed the band from their driving grunge beginnings with "Ten" all the way to the more mellow, introspective "No Code."
"Yield" opens with a bang, roaring off to the tune of "Brain of J," a rock anthem any Pearl Jam fan can instantly immerse themselves in.
Yet the album's true power comes from the tracks which litter the middle of the set.

Yield, it just does it for me. I think it's their most "band" together album, where they were really just at peace with each other, and I think it shows in their music.
I think No Code and Yield were transition albums, from the early day grunge kings to the modern, inteligent, musical, rock band they are.

I suggest this album to anyone who is displeased with the majority of the repetitive, monotonous music that is being released today and wants to relive the genius that is Pearl Jam, or anyone who just wants to put a great piece of rock history in their collection.
Yt may not be considered Pearl Jam's best, but it has a number of great songs can be considered among their better songs including 'Given to Fly,' 'Wish,' and 'Do the Evolution.' This may have to do with the fact the radio stations will not burnout this CD as much as they do Ten.
Yield is an album that goes to show that true talented musicians can take their music in any direction, even experimental (ie hidden track, "Push Me Pull Me," almost a spoken word track), and still rule.

 Five Horizons: do not yield
There's a natural evolution behind the release of a new album; first, you hear one or two new songs debuted at shows; you get to hear the development of them, hear the kinks being ironed out live.
At the time this tape was a big deal to have; now it's just amusing to listen to, to compare the songs to their finished album versions and to their live presentations.
The album gets released when the band is done with it -- when they're personally satisfied with how it sounds and what it looks like.

It Dies Today “The Caitiff Choir” - Reviews
The album's weakest moments are when they strive to out-do their peers at their own game, as opposed to simply playing by their own rules-which is precisely what made the debut so special.
My favorite track off the album is actually track 3, "The Radiance", which is one of the more softer songs on the album, but I think it's luster lies in the fact that musically the song is brilliant.
Hailed by their label as the new face of metalcore, I don't see that the album has done all that much to push the genre in new directions, but the band has found ways to recycle the sounds that were already there into a somewhat unique presentation.

Rolling Stone : Pearl Jam: Yield : Music Reviews
They want you to hear Yield as an album rather than as a pop-culture event, distancing themselves even further from their anthemmongering, trauma-sharing, flannel-flaunting youth.
Pearl Jam might not be the generational spokesmodels they used to be, but they've grown up to be a looser, livelier band, writing sharper tunes to fit their dense, intricate guitar fuzz.
But the ballads are the real attention getters on Yield: Slow-motion melodies like "Low Light" and "In Hiding" give Vedder a chance to luxuriate in the nooks and crannies of his ruggedly handsome voice, the band's trump card.
