Yngwie J. Malmsteen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Yngwie J. Malmsteen (born Lars Yngve Johann Lannerbäck, June 30, 1963) is a guitarist from Sweden who achieved widespread acclaim in the 1980s due to his technical proficiency and fusion of classical music elements with heavy rock guitar.
Yngwie Malmsteen at Reunion Arena, Dallas, TX Born into a musical family in Stockholm, Yngwie was the youngest child in the family.
Malmsteen was in his teens when he first encountered the music of the 19th-century violin virtuoso Niccolo Paganini, whom he cites as his biggest classical influence.

 Yngwie Malmsteen - Marching Out
Yngwie plays a very nice classical piece on a nylon string for the intro, and it works very nicely after the first "two" quite full-on songs.
Yngwie generally is distinguished as a neo-baroque player, but here I am convinced that he could do just as well as a neo-medievil player.
Yngwie really wanted to make sure he made an impact after his superb debut album, and Marching Out matches the standard of Rising Force, adding to some skills such as more eastern sounding sections in the solos and more sensitive playing.

 Yngwie Malmsteen Gear Page
Yngwie uses vintage models dating from 1972-73 in the studio and live, but the re-issue Marshall 1987x is a superb replica of the 1972 (year) model which were slightly more aggressive in sound.
Yngwie has used this amp as long as he has been in the spotlight and has said "Over the years virtually every amp manufacturer in the world has asked me to try their amps...I'd rather pay for a Marshall than get the others for free".
Yngwie has used this pedal on a few occasions when he may not have a DOD 250 with him, all his recent UK 'Guitarist' magazine sound clips have seen a TS-9 used, but it has not been used live or in Studio308 for a few years now.

 Axe Idols Profiles: Yngwie Malmsteen
Yngwie was the youngest of three children, and his early childhood would show no hint of his career to come - the young boy hated music and early piano and trumpet lessons were lost on him.
Curiously, Yngwie began to play his acoustic (for which he bought a pickup from a mail order catalogue) and then a cheap Stratocaster copy, which he received from his brother when he was nine.
Yngwie left school for good at the age of 15, leaving behind memories of riding his motorbike through the school hallway.

 CMT.com : Yngwie Malmsteen : Biography
Yngwie Malmsteen is arguably the most technically accomplished hard rock guitarist to emerge during the '80s.
Malmsteen released a series of albums over the course of the '80s that, aside from slight differences in approach and execution, were strongly similar to Rising Force, and critics charged him with showing little artistic progression.
Malmsteen responded by insisting that since he was already playing music he loved, he had no desire to develop any further, and that his love did come through in his playing.

As a young and aspiring guitarist in the early- and mid-1980s, I was especially enamored of the technical prowess and dramatic flair that Swede Yngwie J. Malmsteen so energetically brought to the music scene with his self-described 'baroque and roll' style.
Yngwie has been surprisingly prolific, but somehow that didn't help me in buying any of his albums in over the last 14 years.

No Life 'til Metal - CD Gallery - Yngwie Malmsteen
Yngwie is the Swedish, lightning-fast, guitar shredding egomaniac that helped change the way people look at metal and is one of the most influential heavy metal guitarist of the 80's and 90's.
Yngwie combined classical chord progressions, harmonic minor scales, and jaw-dropping, fast picking techniques that included the sweep-picked arpeggio that few were using yet.
No doubt that Yngwie is one of the best, as far as dazzling, lightning-fast technique goes, but when the songs start sounding like they could have been on Rainbow's later day offerings, then he just sounds like one of the many, rather than the originator.

Then Yngwie switches from his Beethoven influence to his Hendrix influence with "Bedroom Eyes" that starts with a quick hammer-E on the D string, some wah pedal in the solo and an all-around funky feel on this rock steady track.

Also, there is a color photo of Malmsteen posed with his guitar on the back of the CD jewel case.

The unusual thing with this song is that Yngwie's lead guitar is somewhat quiet throughout the course of the song, except for the solo, which is somewhat brief for him.
