		Yokohama Academy, as the predecessor of the university, was built in 1928 in the international port of Yokohama, opening the doors of the country to the broader world.
		Due to the reformation of the educational system, the school came to be known as Kanagawa University in 1949 pursuing its philosophy not only in educating the students theoretically but also in cultivating their applicableness with the ability to use what they have learned at school into real practice.
