YONGSAN GARRISON, South Korea — Motor pool personnel at Yongsan Garrison have doubled the amount of emissions testing they perform on government noncombat vehicles to comply with Seoul’s clean air standards.
Garrison spokesman David McNally said units responsible for their own maintenance still have the option for local testing, but he added tenant units could get the same service for free at garrison facilities with fewer logistical and language difficulties.
The garrison is responsible for about 1,000 nontactical vehicles, with about 700 of its own and 300 belonging to tenant units with agreements for garrison personnel to perform maintenance.
