 The Yorkshire Air Ambulance - Elvington
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service was launched on 25 October 2000 and is the first dedicated air ambulance to operate in Yorkshire.
The Yorkshire Air Ambulance Service Charity funds the service.
The Air Ambulance can also deliver a fast inter-hospital transfer of seriously ill or injured patients and a high level of patient comfort, especially to patients with relevant head, neck, back and spinal injuries.

The South Yorkshire Ambulance Service was formed and managed, initially by the Regional Health Authority and, later, by the Rotherham Area Health Authority (due to the Headquarters being situated on Moorgate at Rotherham.)
The initial process of assimilation was a difficult one, as each Service had its own management structure, control and communications system and even culture.
A key moment in this amalgamation was the centralisation of command and control on the Moorgate site in 1978.

Paramedics from West Yorkshire Metropolitan Ambulance Service confirmed none of the passengers were injured and five ambulances were sent to the scene.
A fire service spokeswoman said they had been alerted by the airport at 1245 BST that a plane had gone off the end of the runway.
A statement from the airport added: "An A320 LTE aircraft arriving from Fuerteventura at 1240 BST had problems on landing which resulted in it coming to rest at the end of the runway.

 Royal Logistic Corps Museum - 24 Hour Museum - official guide to UK museums, galleries, exhibitions and heritage
The museum contains the collections of The Royal Logistic Corps (formed 1993) and its predecessors, including the Royal Corps of Transport, the Royal Army Ordnance Corps, the Royal Pioneer Corps, the Army Catering Corps and the Postal and Courier Service (Royal Engineers).
The museum is not large, with the main gallery covering about 400 square metres, but it has a very wide variety of displays, arranged in chronological order.The main vehicle collection was passed to the National Army Museum some years ago and is now on display at the Museum of Army Transport in Beverley, Yorkshire.
Major exhibits include items from the Battle of Marston Moor (1644), Waterloo (1815), the Zulu and Boer Wars (including bread issued at Mafeking), World War I exhibits including a horse ambulance and World War II objects spanning from Dunkirk to campaigns in Burma and the Far East.

The fourteen U-class locomotives had been originally built by the North British Locomotive Co. for the British Ministry for Munitions and intended for war service on the Soudan Railways, were equipped to use oil fuel when they were supplied to the WAGR in 1946-47.
