	Yorkville, Manhattan - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
		Yorkville is a neighborhood within the Upper East Side of the borough of Manhattan in the city of New York City.
		Roughly speaking, it is bound by 79th Street on the south, the East River on the east, 96th Street (i.e., Spanish Harlem) on the north, and Third Avenue on the west.
		Yorkville is the birthplace of baseball legend Lou Gehrig, in 1903.

		I knew a Bridget but don't think it is you unless you lived on 78th street or went to St. Monica's on 80th street.My mother lived in Yorkville from 1922 until she died in 1984.You probably have found that most of us have moved out of New York.
		It is sad to see how much of the charm of Yorkville has disppeared with the construction of each new high rise, bit this has been an interesting site to stumble upon.

		My impression is that you're pretty much going to find the same things in JC that you're trying to flee from in Yorkville (a neighborhood I also know pretty well, as I lived at 87th and 1st for a couple years).
		You can be less worried about using a realtor in JC as they generally charge much less of a commission than in Manhattan.
		The area had a nice historical feel to it, was very quiet, and had some nice green spaces (Liberty Park?) that were a only a short walk away.
