On February 1, 2005 nine towns and villages from Ono District and the former Yoshiki District (dissolved by this action) merged into the expanded city of Takayama.
The towns and villages participating in this merger were, from Ono District, Asahi, Kiyomi, Kuguno, Miya, Nyukawa, Shokawa, and Takane, and, from Yoshiki District, Kamitakara and Kokufu.

AB: The Yoro fault is an east vergent reverse fault that extends north-south for 30 km along the western margin of the Nobi Plain and the Ise Plain, central Japan.
At Shizu site, Gifu Prefecture, located at the eastern foot of the Yoro Mountains, surface deformation on floodplain and alluvial fan is recognized as warping and tectonic bulge.
The primary purpose of this study is to define shallow structural relief across the uplifts and to estimate uplift rate associated with Late Holocene faulting of the Yoro fault.
