  Minamoto no Yoritomo - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Minamoto no Yoritomo was the eldest son of Minamoto no Yoshitomo, the heir of the Minamoto (Seiwa Genji) clan, and his official wife, Fujiwara no Saneori, who was a member of the illustrious Fujiwara clan.
Meanwhile, Minamoto no Yoshitomo fled the capital just as the Taira marched in in 1160, but was betrayed and executed by a retainer in Owari.
As for Yoritomo, the new head of the Mianmoto, he was exiled to Izu, in the Kanto Plain, which at that time was under the rule of the Hōjō clan.

Born in 1959 in Hirosaki, Japan, Yoshitomo Nara is one of the most influential artists to emerge from Japan during the Pop art movement of the nineties.
Yoshitomo Nara's work is influenced by Japanese comic books (manga) but he is unique in the contemporary art scene here for bedeviling his typically cute and vulnerable figures with a horror like image.
Nara's tapping into horror through the medium of the innocent child is particularly poignant in Japan's controlled society of rigid language and social structures, especially considering recent shockingly violent crimes in Japan involving children as the aggressors.

 Minamoto Yoshitsune
Few samurai loom as largely in Japanese history and lore as Minamoto Yoshitsune, the brilliant general whose tactics won a string of victories for his brother Yoritomo that culminated in the demise of the Taira clan.
Yoshitsune was a son of Minamoto Yoshitomo (1123-1160), who had supported the Taira during the Hôgen Disturbance (1156).
Yoshitomo’s own father was put to death as a result of the incident, as well as eleven other of his relatives.
