		The solution was a rather unique editor called Yudit that enabled anyone with a degree of manual dexterity and enough fonts at his disposal to enter extremely complex multiscript texts.
		Yudit uses a simple if somewhat idiosyncratic interface, with a GUI-fied command-line at the bottom and the ability to enter Unicode encodings in a window running under X. 		In Yudit you will notice a single line input field at the bottom of the window, enter "test" in it and press "Return", it will show various languages rendered in their native fonts, look for Hindi and make sure you can see stuff displayed properly, as in the image above.
