		Yulian Karl Vasilievich Sokhotsky (Юлиан КарлВасильевич Сохоцкий)(February 2, 1842 - December 14, 1927) was a Russian mathematician.
		Sokhotsky was born in Warsaw, Poland,where he attended state gymnasium.
		His Master's dissertation was practically the first text inRussian mathematical literature on Cauchy method of residue and published in 1868.The dissertation itself contains many original grasps, which have been also ascribed to other mathematicians.
